Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a release.
Officers state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then located numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report initial examinations indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.
A senior representative commented the attack left him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of migrant background in February 2020.
